SIS Video Challenge 2014

Hello Miss Yates!

I really like the #EverythingSIS by Basically YACOT for the top 5 SIS Video Challenge. The reason why is because they used the GOPRO camera, which was awesome! I like how they recorded some of the sports from SIS. It was appealing! The most attractive part was when some students were at the SUN-U Residence having a swimming club. The reason why is because they showed students diving into the water with a waterproof camera! It was cool and nice. Basically, it shows what SIS is all about :) They made the video really unique and special. There were also people smiling throughout thr video, which apparently made me happy! The video told me that in SIS, even though there were sad times and disagreement times, we will always be happy. Initially, I thought the video was only about sports, however it even showed the feelings of the students. In the end, it really made me touched by the form of the video. The video also showed how happy are the students in SIS like studying together, talking with each other, playing sports together and etc. My wish it to make them to be the winner of the video challenge.

Hello, Maxine here!

For the top 5 SIS video challenge, I personally like SIS Rocks by Poulets in Pajamas. This is because they really show what is so special about SIS. They stated the morning announcements, the kindness in the school, the happy times that we go through etc.

 The video made me feel very happy and thinking "so true" :P . Honesty is demonstrated everyday in this school, my friends do help me through hard times, and most importantly, we do celebrate our happiness together. Like my class, 7D, we are extreme party animals.

 We love to party a lot, but of course, we also focus on our study in the same time ^^. They also showed the banners of the monthly virtues which was respect, reminded me that students in SIS is lovely and amazing because they take action following the virtues. They showed that students forgive themselves when they got a bad mark or something bad happened.

 The video made me feel friends are always there when you need them, which is true, it just depends on whether you made the right choice or the wrong one.  Students here have Stewardship just like what the video said. Teachers and students cooperate very greatly here. :)

               In my opinion best video was perform by Team extreme because it has more effort. Extreme team put  more explaining SIS than others.  I think extreme team has put more effort on the videos  more than others . It has more speaking than others . i think it was good because it has better sound and music than the other . The extreme team has better camera and video typing . Extreme team put more fact , it ask some question from some teacher and student . overall i think extreme team should win because it has better effort

I like the video SIS rocks by team extreme because it is very detailed and has opinions from students in SIS. It catches attention of the people by putting a sort of cartoon entrance.The video is not just about talking but also shows pictures to help visualize the environment. For instance letting people know what the mph looks like. It also explains what type of sports are played in the Mph like badminton , cheer leading, futsal,
basket ball, etc. This video is helpful to students who are new to this school by showing the facilities of the school. People in this school adds in their opinion to let others know how each of them feels.The opinion of the students and teachers are used to help let others understand why they think it is good. When viewing the mph and other facilities ,there is a narrator to help guide them through. The narrator inform what is it what do we do there and how we help the students. this is why i think that this video is great.

The 10 things i like and dislike about blogging are

1) I like it because I see Ms.Amy every morning and every friday i don't get to see her. (no offense lol)

2) Ms Yates is funny

3)I like having my own time with my best friend,Angie

4)No ones there to disturb me.

Topic of ... =v= ???

I like comics, fan fiction and other short comics too. It was really fun while reading and it sometime helps with my language and vocabulary skills. I liked adventure and comedy stories because most of them were unique and it was exciting. I used free time to read it for killing time. Some of my friends will introduce me some really funny comic. I couldn't help but laugh a lot, sometimes I though of these comics helped me to went further imagination. So that I could forget some bad things but eventually it will still come back. I felt more relaxing when reading a comic. Many teenagers were taking drugs for escapism. Reading comics are way more better than taking drugs, so just read it for fun (when you have time XP)! I apologize of didn't introduce any comics but,...

Topic of something

I choose games as my topic. So I love games because it give you unlimited life and you can parkour around and fly around and beat out bad guys or play with your friend in the digital world who does not want to do that. And I know sometimes games is to over the top but it is to much fun doing all does things that the real world can't do, killing, robbing, blowing something up or drive a tank or go to space etc. I hate my parents when I was having to much fun but no offence, when you having too much fun you don't even know what time it is and what date it is. So games can sometimes make your life worst and make your life better.

I like baking when I have free time. I bake a lot in free time, Christmas and any special event. I like sports too.My favourite sports is badminton and dodge ball. I really like sports because you can finally go out and have some fun with your friends and get active! My favourite animal is a kitten and a puppy. They are really cute animals and adorable, and they are fun to play with if you are bored :).
Last Sunday, me and my friends went to Jump street which is a trampoline place. It was every fun because you can do acrobats there. And the best thing is you could play dodge ball there! Awesome. :) Last Thursday, the grade 7 and 8's went to watch the 'The Giver' movie. At the end ,it was so touching. My favourite character was everyone cause I like them all :). I ate subway with my friends and it was a fun time :).

Fav sports BUT....

          Today, I'm going to tell you guys what sport I like. People usually do sports very happily but sometimes I don't.. AND I DON'T KNOW WHY. My favorite sports are basketball, badminton and futsal. I used to be in basketball team when I'm in my primary school, but that caused me some problems. The basketballers in our school used to be quite popular. That caused us quite lot of haters. Maybe they're jealous? Or... I don't know. Our teachers in our schools don't really support me when I joined the basketbal team (PRIMARY SCHOOL! PRIMARY SCHOOL NOT SIS), because they think that sometimes joining these sports just let us get bad results on our exam. And I don't really think that it will effect our grades, because when I'm over stressed or I'm not in a good mood, I usually do sports and I felted way more better and better, so I'm not agree with them. I'm not a very pro person in badminton, but this year, I don't know why but my skills improved quite much. Of course, I'm happy about it. I don't play a lot of futsal or football, but I loved the sport because my family and my cousins brought me to play futsal with them once, and it's really really fun. I hope that I can improve my skills on these three sports to be a better athlete? or I don't know hehe. By the way, thanks for reading till here! I appreciate it.

Technology ....

Friends tease me for being a geek sometimes but i'm fine with that. I love technology, computers mostly. Computers are getting faster, smarter, cheaper and more efficient. Even now, it's so advanced it can be a "learning computer" which is actually dangerous because it can think and imagine if the computer uses "google" to explore? 
I was given the permission to build my very own Desktop 2 years ago. Bought the parts and assembled it at home, took me 5 days to make sure it was going to run properly, it was a joy seeing it starting up with the "windows 7" home screen. I just take it as a hobby for computers, nothing serious. I just enjoy computers a lot, hacking my friends computer, controlling it while he is using it or maybe find out his password? Nah, i'm not that evil.

My time with friends^^

Friendship is one of the most important things in my life. Friends let me have lots of memory, they are crazy, active around us during nutrition break. My friends let me know their feelings, I will tell them my feeling too. When I am sad, my friends will come around me, listen to what i say, and keep quiet so that I won't be more sad. Some of them are active and therefore when i am sad or any others are sad, they will make us laugh and let everyone be happy. I love my classmates, they are my friends, some of them not maybe. However, every morning if we are together, or even nutrition break or after school, we are always be crazy, happy, jumping here and there, singing, dancing, laughing etc. And thats why my class are always the noisiest class. xp Although sometimes we have an argument, but others will think it as playing, joking and let us forget about it and playing around again. First day in school, everyone are so shy, but luckily some of us are brave to talk to others, and so on we become friends. Friends are the best and most important people in my life, I love my FRIENDS.

Hmmm.....music??

I started learning how to play the piano since I was very young. Somehow the sounds that the keys produce intrigued me. I became more fascinated the more times I heard it. Then one day, my parents decided to surprise me by buying a piano so that I could learn. When I'm playing the piano, I feel like as if I'm in a whole different world. I feel as if I can communicate every emotion, every feeling to my audience. I didn't need to feel afraid. I could just sit there and play my music. Somehow, even just hearing a piano makes me happy. Only just recently I discovered a new genre of movies....anime. I felt as if I could relate to exactly what the characters were feeling. I started playing songs from anime as well. I felt as if no one could stand in my way, that everything I had was already right in front of me. The piano even though a commonly used instrument all over the world, is certainly the best for me!

How blogging went for me

           For the first time, I was very nervous and excited for blogging. Still, I really like blogging and I miss it since today is the last day advisory for this month. Blogging is very FuN !!! I learned many things from this blog like the convenient of the website. I like to look at the others blogs and some were funny and interesting. As long as I'm in the Sunway Speaks, I might use some free time to look at those blogs. I would like to continue learning more about good website and problems in the world. Internet helps me many things like doing presentation and others, which is very convenient. Now I feels like very vexed about what should I choose for the next advisory. Wish the group of students in this advisory were having a good time.

Blogging When................ :p

I think blogging club is interesting at the start and fun at the end. I like the way that you gave us free time when we finish our blogging / classwork and each day you give us difference topic, some are harder to write and some are easier to write. I don't like blogging much but it is fun when you give us topic to write, most of the time I don't know what to blog about so I choose blogging to improve my writing skills. Blogging club is fun and exciting, I enjoy it very much. If I have a second chances to come blogging, I will differently go blogging club 100%. And I will recommend people come to this club t have fun blogging. Blogging is not hard as I expected, it is somehow fun to me. But anyways blogging club is fun to me and blogging club should have more socket because people need to charge their laptop or their devices. Not only you are a friendly person, you are fun person to hang out with. This is my feedback. :D

How blogging went for me :)

Blogging went well for me because I knew the topic really well. It is quite fun because I can share my opinion and talk about events and stuff. It didn't went well for me sometimes I don't really understand the topic and I don't know what to talk about. It is fun to learn about blogging and share things that people want to see and read. I like how Ms. Yates explains it really well and very thoroughly. I enjoy blogging because we get to use our laptop and type about our life. I like typing words so I guess this advisory suits me. BLOGGING IS FUN! :)

Last day of Blogging

     Today is the last day of blogging. I'm happy that I chosed blogging this time. During these weeks, I learned alot of things, and I expressed my feelings very well. I looked at some people's blog, sometimes I agree, but sometimes I don't. It's fun to be in Ms.Yates blogging class because sometimes she will make us laugh. But, I first hoped that I can improve my writing skills and grammar skills since grade 7 is going to end, but I think I didn't do that. I think I just use a little effort in the blogging session and I will try to do it harder if I come blogging next year. I will surely recommend this advisory to my friends because I think that it's productive to do a or type a blog. To be honest, it's sometimes fun in here but sometimes not, and I don't know why. Anyways, I hoped that I can come to advisory again next year!

Me being a Cheerleader once :'(

I was in cheerleading, but now I'm not. I really really love cheerleading. I quit because I missed 2 practices and I let my team down, so I decided if I wasn't there, they wouldn't be that mad and stuff.. Turns out, it makes things worse, and so I felt worse. Now, most of the cheerleaders that see me in the hallway just ignore me :'( I told one of the cheerleaders I'm going back at October, but now I can't, because I hurt my knee and I can't do too much jumps and stuff, my doctor suggest me not to go back :'( I really love cheerleading and I really want to be a part of them. :( :( :( :( :( :( :( 

How Blogging Went For Me !

To be honest, i was instantly attracted to the choice of going to blogging club because ... it had to do with something with computers ! Blogging was fun because i had to write about topics that were given and it was interesting . I get to share my opinions and thoughts about a topic like maybe a song or a political topic. Writing paragraphs is not what i like to do, its not fun and its brain power consuming, in that case i did not have to write paragraphs so i was quite happy. The part that was difficult for me was the thinking part, most of the time i look at the screen with a blur face and thinking about the topic for a long time and mostly come out with nothing, maybe its just me. I enjoyed blogging club and i hope i get to experience it again.

How blogging went for me?

I am happy to be in blogging club. This is fun and Ms Yates is very funny. I can write my feeling, or post anything that I like, and share to my blog and let everyone know my feeling. Nobody will write something disagreement with your post or write anything that hurt you, this is one of the reason that let me love blogging. Therefore, I can also know everyone's feeling by looking at their post. Things that went well is I can write my own thought and find my favourite movie and share to everyone. After we done our things, we can do whatever we want, and no one will bother me. I love blogging, blogging is FUN!

How Blogging went for me

On the overall blogging was a fun experience for me. I was able to quietly sit at the desk while listening to music and do my work. Usually in class, I would have a lot of distractions like people moving around and doing weird stunts which would make me laugh and not able to concentrate. However, in here, it's nice and quiet with no distractions. Another thing that I like about this advisory is that after I have finished my work, I have got whatever time that's remaining all to myself. That is also another part of why I look forward to Fridays. However, even though the whole purpose of Blogging is to type your work, there was one time where I wasn't able to bring my computer and I wasn't able to finish my work. I also wasn't able to borrow one from anyone else. That troubled me a bit. But, on the overall I really did enjoyed this group and Ms. Yates is the besst!! ~~

I really love this advisory group. After I do what I'm suppose to do, I get free time! Plus I love Ms.Yates, I wish I'll be going to her class next year.

Society Flaws

I really REALLY hate and dislike the society which included racism. Yesterday, I watched a movie named "The Great Debaters" and before yesterday I watched "42 The Jackie Robinson Story" movie and both these movies included racism between White people and Black people. Many modern days people like now (21st century) couldn't really felt how they feel when they were born in that era.

 i found this video extremely hilarious . i have experienced this with some of my friends who live in Singapore and speak with Australian accent . I always can't control my laughter when that happens to me. When i first saw this video i was in the car on the way to my Dad's hometown and i burst out in laughter and my parents were like what on earth are you laughing at.But i could relate so much to this because in Asia it happens all the time and i get so annoyed at the same time it is really funny.

Some clips in this video are funny, so I often watched it at television for killing time after finishing what I need to do. There are many others "Just for laughs gags" to prank some random people. I laugh out loud because it was too funny but most of the time I hold back my laughter because my family was very busy of working or studying for her tests. This video clip included Top 5 gags, the 5th top 5 prank is taking a picture but they actually put the photo in the camera which is a picture that is taken without the man (you tuber).So the girl (another you tuber) was like "What?" expression showed in her face because the man drove away already. The 4th top 5 prank is while the random person is pushing the wheel barrow, another guy hiding down there gave them a sudden force of pulling it so that the things in the wheel barrow falls out and poured all over the guy. The 3rd top 5 prank is a blind(fake)woman wanted to mail a letter and asked for random people's help, then someone helps her but the mailbox was too big and hard to fit in to the post office box. A guy saw it and came to help but he actually opened it without permission and took the expensive wristwatch and put on his hand. Then he flee away with an excuse. The 2nd top 5 prank is a female employees asked some random people to carry the wine with a ring inside for those couple in that table. As they are carrying it and almost placed on the table, a guy came by and took the wine and drink it. He then acted like he was chocking because the ring is inside the wine. The 1st top 5 prank is a random person was asked to help the old couples taking pictures of them, and the couples suddenly did funny things and in this video clip, many people doesn't know how to respond and I found it VERY FUNNY. My favorite prank are the top 2 gags and 3 gags in the video clip.

I felt VERY SAD and PITY to myself and anyone who is in this situation too. It was very funny to look at the true self and only hurting yourself with some small incident.

     Why school wifi so slow?? It is because school have so many people using it, it is because the school don;t let people to play, it is because school of us?? What cause the wifi so slow?? Sometimes it is fast, but sometimes it is slow like a old man waling up the stairs. The school needs a better wifi, when the teacher wanted to show a video online but the wifi it is too slow to load. This is the problem of wifi someday school need to change a better wifi.

I hate people who look down on other people

I hate those people who look down on other people. Everyone are human, and all of us need to be respect by others. Not everyone born to be the people who are poor, ugly, dumb or others. Now a days lots of video have present that how the rich people look down on poor people, this is unfair for them. So, don't be a person who always look down on other people, one day, you will be look down by other people, only that time, you will know the feeling of the people that you look down.

I hate Racism

I really wish there is no racism in the world... Yesterday I watched a movie [The Great Debaters]. They are all African-American. The Americans dislike them. At one scene, the Americans hung and burn one of the African American for NO REASON. And the African-American didn't do anything at all. He's innocent... 😞

Rich People Problems

I know at SIS, some people are really rich and tried to show off their rich stuff which they bought it it and not really going to use it. They bought it just to show off and not using it. That is just a waste of money and I rather give the money who someone really needed it to buy something else than buying something that I'm not going to use it. People think that $50 is not enough for buying food and all for a day or two.

This picture is about a little girl who only got $50(obviously). She expect the tooth fairy to give her more than $50. I'm so confused about this rich people problems. I think getting enough money for food for a week is good enough.

Emotions about society

I do not know what has happen to kids these days, i myself as a kid look down at my own age. The other day i was playing a online multiplayer video game with some friends and comes the 13 year old kid who screams and swears every time he dies. Playing on America servers, the kid was obviously a Westerner. He started talking random racist things about us asians, we were laughing at this kid, but at the same time we were angry because of his attitude.
Yes, maybe once in awhile i swear when i lose in the game, but it is still a game, nothing worth getting angry about. Its just sad that some people cant understand the value of this game, which is nothing. We play it for entertainment purposes all the time, but still there are these people who are NUTS over the game.

Annoying airplane incidents.

One thing that I hate in a flight is children or babies that cry all the time, there's a few times on my flight, a family has a 3-5 year old baby that kept on crying and yelling and he was right next to me!!!

the child's parents didn't even cared they just wore headphones.

Second emotional stuff :(

          Second or third time expressing my feelings I guess. About school this time, I saw many of the students were left out, no matter what, for no reasons. That's sad, like seriously. If I'm the one that get left out, I might cry, like everyday, every minute, every second. The ones that got left out, they don't feel like mixing with people else and they don't feel like mixing and making new friends, they just feel like sitting by their own, being an "anti -social" person. But, the ones that left them out, they also didnt care about each other's feelings, just be with their own "gangs". School is not supposed to be like that, I guess. I bet all of the teachers wanted a friendly and peaceful school environments for the students to study. I saw many girls ate their breakfast and lunch alone, without anyone beside them, just feel like really really lonely about them :(. Let's turn the environment into a happier school environment, be friends with everyone, include them to be beside you! :)

Emotions about bullying

I saw this YouTube video and I felt angry and sad for the person in the video.The video is about a 3 year old girl and two 5 year old girl beating up the 3 year old girl. I just don't know why people just have to bully someone that is innocence. I'm angry because I can't stand people being bullied and not telling their parents about. Until the both side of the parents saw the video, they were disgusted.

People think that its very funny to just tease people but they don't think about other people feelings. I felt bad for the little girl. and I want the other side parents to teach them about how to not bully other and give them a lesson.

This picture really attracted me so much because it is such an evil advertisement that pepsi would do ! This advertisement shows two cans of soft drinks, one which is obviously a can of Coca-Cola and the other can which is a can of Pepsi. The straw did not want to enter the can of Coke but the other straw went in the can of Pepsi. Its very ironic and evil of Pepsi to do this kind of advertisement. The straw had hands that did not want to enter the can of Coca-Cola. This kind of advertisement techniques are very attractive but at a cost of losing a possible business partner in the future. Its crazy what people do these days to sell their products, all in the name of money.

Emotional response

When I was Little like 7-8 years old, my grandfather pass away. I was really sad because I really like my grandfather because he is always nice to me even though he cant speak because he has a disease that I forgotten what's it's called. and the worst thing is I was sick when during his burial :(

I got over it after three months, it's one of my most emotional periods in my lifetime.

Something that makes me a little angry and a little funny :(:

         As everybody knows ALS ice bucket challenge, I have a little opinion of mine inside it. ALS ice bucket challenge? I'm not trying to be really mad on the guys that tried this or something, but sometimes it irritates me. I tried once too, just a small bucket, with a little cold water, thats all. Some of my friends keep trying and trying, which is a sign of wasting water. Maybe a lot of people want to feel those pains of ALS, but they just have to try once but not reapeating. But sometimes, it's funny because of some people's expression when they're doing the challenge. Their shouts, laughs, maybe it's fun for them because they thought that they only live once and they have to be an expert in life or anything, maybe they like to try many new things on their life. It's a good thing that you would like to try new things, but not keep trying because when you didn't notice it, maybe you're wasting some kind of like resources. Here's a picture of it:

          This is what I'm trying to say about. Africans drink river water like almost everyday, getting dehydrated, lack of water resource. Everyday, africans die because of these, but we're wasting water again and again, once is actually enough, just like an experience, experience those painful. Might be fun, but once is enough.

I feel as though this is something that people in developed countries take for granted: food. We (and yes I am guilty of this as well) often think about our expendable income and think “what new ________ can I buy?” …………..

2.)    TASK 2: Since we are talking about emotions, I’d like you to write about something that you notice about society.

a.       Example: When I am on nutrition break duty, I often observe the student interaction in the cafeteria. I watch what students in our schools age group (10-18) are eating, how they eat it (behaviours they exhibit), where they sit, and most often, how students interact with each other. One thing in particular that I have noticed is the students who eat alone. I don’t necessarily watch them, but the other students around them. What makes these students so cool that they can’t take 2 minutes of their lives and invite this lone student to sit with them.  Can they not imagine how it would feel to be the one person who has no one to sit with? How isolating it must be to not have the nerve to gain strength and ask others if it would be okay to join them for their meal? …………..
