Hello everyone!
Today were going to talk about Remembrance Day :) Well, basically Rememberance Day takes place every year on November 11. It is a day to remember for the countries of Commonwealth of the army that fought in World War 1, who also lost their lives.
Countries like Jamaica, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, America and few other countries do celebrate Remembrance Day too. An interesting fact is people who celebrates it, do wear poppies. By reason why is because it was the first ever flower to bloom during the war. The flower is red, so it represents the blood of the armies who lost their lives. It is also counted as respecting them. Remembrance Day is also known as Poppy Day as poppy are worn on clothing on Remembrance Day.
The war came to an end at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918. It is observed and remembered since 1918 till today. The first Remembrance Day was in 1919, just a year after the war. Every November 11th, there's always a 2 minute silence at 11am to remember the armies.
